Grand Jury, indictments returned

After a recent session of the Ottawa County Grand Jury, indictments have now been returned against the following individuals, according to Prosecuting Attorney Mark Mulligan:

Kristy L. Hafemeister, whose last known address is Toledo, has been indicted on nine counts of Theft of Drugs, all felonies of the fourth degree. Hafemeister is accused of taking the prescription medications from a Graytown residence in January.

Michael S. Jackson, 36, 112 Taylor Street. Sandusky, was indicted on one count of burglary, a felony of the second degree, after he allegedly entered a Danbury Township residence last month.

Alisa L. Minarik, 31, whose last known address is Downing Drive, Genoa, has been charged with three counts of Possession of Drugs, all felonies of the fifth degree, after she was reportedly found in possession of several prescriptions belonging to other individuals by officers of the Clay Township Police Department in November.

Glen Dale Fleenor, who is currently being held in the Ottawa County Detention facility, is facing numerous felony charges including Receiving Stolen Property, OVI, and Failure to Comply, as well as misdemeanor charges of Child Endangering, Driving under Suspension, and Refusal to Submit to a Chemical Test. The charges follow a car chase involving the Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Ottawa County Sheriff's Office on February 8th.

Michael D. Miller, 41, who is currently being held in the Cuyahoga County Detention Facility, has been indicted on multiple felony counts of Rape, Pandering Obscenity involving a Minor, and Disseminating Matter Harmful to Juveniles, along with two misdemeanor counts of Public Indecency. Miller a Cleveland resident is accused of bringing minors to Port Clinton in 2008, showing them pornographic materials, videotaping them, and engaging in sexual conduct with at least two of the minors.

Anthony L. Simmons, 18, Toledo, was indicted on one count each of Improper Handling of a Firearm in a Motor Vehicle, a felony of the fourth degree, and one misdemeanor count of Possession of Drugs. According to reports of the Ohio State Highway Patrol, Simmons was found to be intoxicated and in. possession of a loaded pistol and a bag of marijuana during a traffic stop last month.

Sarah E. Cullen, 25, 3595 E. Higb1a~d Drive, Port Clinton, has been charged with two counts of Deception to Obtain Dangerous Drugs, both felonies of the fifth degree, after she reportedly obtained prescription pain, medications from more then one physician on at least two occasions last year.

Summonses have been issued for Hafemeister, Cullen, and Simmons. They are scheduled to make their initial appearances in the Ottawa County Court of Common Pleas on March 18, 2010. Warrants have been issued for all other defendants.

Mulligan noted that an indictment is merely a formal charge in the Common Pleas Court, and does not denote guilt or innocence.
