Director of Nursing celebrates 32 years at Edgewood Manor

On Monday, February 22nd Kaye Lipstraw, Director of Nursing at Edgewood Manor, celebrated 32 years with the facility. Kaye began at Edgewood in 1978 as a charge nurse and in 1989 became the Assistant Director of Nursing. She has held the position of Director of Nursing for the past 4 years.

Edgewood honored Kaye with a special lunch with cake and a bouquet of flowers; attended by the management team at Edgewood and Mark Knepper, Director of Operations: Ohio and Doug Shuck, VP of Operations: Midwest Region. Edgewood Manor is owned by Covenant Care, which operates six facilities in Ohio and 19 in the Midwest, with a total of 60 across the U.S.

When asked what has kept her employed at Edgewood for so many years Kaye stated, "The staff and team dynamics! We have a great management team and supporting staff. Everyone functions toward the goal of providing the best care possible for our residents. They provide compassion & care to our residents and focus on great clinical outcomes. They make me proud to work at Edgewood."

Kaye is a native of the area, growing up in Oak Harbor and graduating from Oak Harbor High School. She got her RN license from St. Vincent School of Nursing in Toledo.

She and her husband, Bob, raised their two boys, Michael and Jeffrey in Oak Harbor and still reside there today. Kaye has three grandchildren, Avery 31/2, Calvin, 20 months and Lacey 3 mos.
